With 59 gassho-zukuri houses, Ogimachi village in Shirakawa-go, Gifu Prefecture is now designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the neighbouring 2 villages of Ainokura and Suganuma in Gokayama, Toyama Prefecture. Beyond the enchanting scenery, there is much history and culture to be discovered and explored.
