Lacquerware Gallery Shop

Distinguishable by its woodturning techniques, Yamanaka lacquerware is a traditional craft handed down over 400 years in the Kaga City area. Yamanaka Urushi-za exhibits and sells traditional lacquerware products which highlight the beauty of wood grain, to tea utensils decorated with gold and silver lacquer, and modern lacquerware for contemporary living. Visitors can also learn through observation and by hands-on experiences about this traditional craft at the adjacent Ishikawa Prefectural Institute for Yamanaka lacquerware, a training institute for woodturning.
