Yu-no-Matsuri Festival is an annual summer festival in Katayamazu Onsen which takes place on the shore of Lake Shibayama. Celebrating the discovery of the town’s hot spring and featuring street stalls, dancing, and various performances, the festival culminates with a grand 40 minute-long firework display performed on Sunday night.
Fireworks are launched over the lake for 10 minutes every night throughout August, so those who visit Katayamazu Onsen during the period should stay until it gets dark.
